It took 2 long years, first we developed a controller box that could house a powerful controller (Thor301), AND have enough space to house another small battery pack in front, AND also have a full size handle; next, making sure the Battery packs are safely built, securely housed, and most importantly, have a reliable, smart BMS that can monitor the cells on the go, and provide critical safety feedback while charging, riding, or otherwise. The current BMS just didn't cut it, so we spent a year and worked with Benjamin Vedder (the V in VESC) and team to develop the first and official VESC BMS for single-wheeled PEVs.
